Visual Learning

Be on the lookout for a video from my next visit to the grocery store.
A former coworker and friend of mine asked that I capture a visit. He, like many of us, is a visual learner and cares to view the items on the shelves and in the basket. In order to be an effective communicator, we must always mine for the language our partner or audience speaks. This is particularly important when we’re hoping to educate another. Every individual absorbs information differently, and it is our responsibility to pick up on those cues. From learning-styles-online.com:
If you use the visual style, you prefer using images, pictures, colors, and maps to organize information and communicate with others. You can easily visualize objects, plans and outcomes in your mind’s eye. You also have a good spatial sense, which gives you a good sense of direction. You can easily find your way around using maps, and you rarely get lost. When you walk out of an elevator, you instinctively know which way to turn.
We don’t often post videos around here, but we often muse on strong teammate behavior. This is a chance for us to meet that challenge. Not everyone acquires what they need from words on a page, no matter how those words are strung together.
Video it is. Food is beautiful. This makes sense.
My man sent me this subtle reminder this morning:
G,
Hope things are going smooth and you’re enjoying Spring. If you do get a chance, video your next shopping cart from Whole Foods. I was “attacked” by a carton of ice cream the other night !!
Pretty simple. Next week, I’ll post a quick video journey. Stay tuned.
Strong mind,
Kap
